Reservation numbers for Agniveers change fast. A figure from last year may be out of date today. Worse, some websites repeat unverified numbers as fact. This table sorts each Agniveer police reservation claim into confirmed and reported. It is correct as of 3 October 2026.
How to read this table
These shares are horizontal reservations. They sit inside each category, such as General or OBC (Other Backward Classes). They apply to direct recruitment only. Each state sets its own age relaxation and post list. A cabinet decision is a first step. The state must still change its rules before the benefit begins.
Central forces
| Force or sector | Share | Status |
| CAPF constable (GD) and Assam Rifles rifleman | 50% | Confirmed. Home ministry reply in Lok Sabha, 21 July 2026 |
| Coast Guard, defence civil posts, defence PSUs | 10% | Confirmed. Announced in June 2022 |
The central figure rose from 10% to 50% for CAPF and Assam Rifles. Our related guide on CAPF reservation gives the post-wise detail.

Why numbers differ between websites
- Some sites copy an old announcement and never update it.
- A cabinet nod is reported as a final rule.
- A share for police is mixed with a share for other uniformed posts.
- Dates shift by a day between a decision and the news report.
- One compiler’s error is copied by many others.
Other states and Agniveer police reservation
We did not find an official notice for other states as of today. That does not prove no quota exists. It means we could not confirm one. Our guides to Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh police go deeper on two states.
Why Agniveer police reservation changes so often
State cabinets meet often, and a new decision can overwrite an old one. A figure that was true in March may be old by October. That is why Agniveer police reservation needs a date beside every number. Treat any figure without a date as a hint, not a fact.
What counts as confirmed
- An official order or cabinet decision reported by a government or public broadcaster source.
- A notified change to recruitment rules.
- A written reply in Parliament or a state assembly.
- A press release from the department itself.
Anything else is only reported. We list it, but we mark it clearly so you do not plan around it.
What to do if your state is missing
Check the recruitment notice of your state police board. Read the clause on reserved categories. Write to the board or visit its helpdesk if the notice is unclear. Bring a printed copy of the clause when you ask. Join our WhatsApp channel for updates, because Agniveer police reservation news arrives in bursts.
How to use this Agniveer police reservation table
Start with your own state. Read the row, then open the source and the state’s recruitment notice. If the status says reported, treat it as a lead to check, not a promise. If the status says confirmed, still read the post list and the age rule. Agniveer police reservation can apply to constables but not to every police post. Then look at the central rows. A candidate may be eligible for both a state and a central post. Keep a note of each notice date and each last date to apply.
Also compare neighbouring states. A state with a lower share may recruit more often, which can give you more chances. A state with a higher share may recruit rarely. Count the vacancies in the last notice, not just the percentage.
Last, remember that rules for each post can change between two notices. Always read the newest notice for your own post, even if last year’s notice looked the same.
